See what’s happening beneath the surface

RMSK Ultrasound

RMSK Ultrasound is musculoskeletal ultrasound performed by a physician who is RMSK (Registered in Musculoskeletal Sonography) certified. It gives us a real-time look at muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, and other soft tissues while they move. It can help turn a vague pain pattern into a clearer starting point for care.

The Stem approach

Accurate answers support personalized care.

When pain lingers or an injury does not behave the way you expect, more information can be useful. Diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound is a comfortable, radiation-free imaging option that lets a provider examine the body’s soft tissues in real time.

At Stem, the goal is not to order a test for its own sake. It is to connect what you feel with what we can observe, then use that understanding to shape a thoughtful care plan that fits your goals.

What to expect

Clear care, explained in a way that makes sense.

01

What it can show

A live look at soft tissue and joints.

Ultrasound may help identify changes involving muscles, tendons, ligaments, bursae, nerves, and the surface of a joint. Because the image is live, the area can also be considered during movement or with gentle pressure.

That perspective can add useful context to an exam, especially when the source of discomfort is not obvious from symptoms alone.

02

What a visit is like

Comfortable, focused, and explained as we go.

You will first talk through what has been bothering you and what activities make it better or worse. A small amount of gel helps the handheld transducer glide over the skin while images appear on the screen.

The visit is noninvasive and typically well tolerated. We will explain what we are looking at and how the findings may inform your next steps.

03

How it guides care

Information that makes a plan more personal.

Findings can help us decide whether your plan should emphasize mobility, stability, corrective exercise, recovery support, or referral for additional evaluation. Ultrasound is one part of the picture, alongside your history and physical exam.

The result is a clearer conversation about what your body needs now and what progress can look like over time.

Who it can support

A plan shaped around your body and your life.

This service may be helpful for adults, teens, and active people working through pain, recurring soft-tissue symptoms, or a recent injury. We will help determine whether it is an appropriate part of your evaluation.

  • Pain or tenderness that has not clearly improved
  • Suspected tendon, muscle, ligament, or joint irritation
  • A sports injury or a return-to-activity question
  • Soft-tissue concerns that need a closer look
  • A desire for a more informed, personalized care plan
  • People who prefer an imaging option without radiation
